As we are getting ready to build, start up, and maintain this new automated warehouse, we are looking for practical, hands-on technicians and a motivated Technical Lead to join our team and help make this project a success.
You will be part of a growing team, helping to build and shape the on-site team from the start. This full-time position (40 hours) offers daytime shifts only, Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00. During quieter periods, it is expected that the team, including the Team Lead, supports appropriate on-site tasks as needed.
As a Technical Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and reliability of advanced automated warehouse technologies, as well as leading the team. You will work closely with the customer on-site, combining technical know-how with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, take ownership, become a trusted point of contact and play a key part in a high-tech environment. Ideally, you are based in the Rotterdam region.
Please note: You will start your journey with us, working closely with Quooker. After 2 to 3 years, the plan is for your employment contract to transition to Quooker, offering you the opportunity to become a permanent member of their organisation.
As a Technical Lead at Swisslog, you play a key roke within the Customer Service organisation, and you will:
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities, and aligning priorities with the customer’s operational requirements.
- Setup a Maintenance year planning schedule in the Customer CMMS system, and supervise the execution in a timely and qualitative manner.
- Deliver preventive and corrective electro-mechanical maintenance on complex automated material handling systems.
- Diagnose, analyse and resolve complex mechanical, electrical and control system faults, escalating where required.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives, developing business cases, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring successful delivery from concept to close-out.
- Act as the on-site technical authority and customer focal point for improvement activities, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Provide functional leadership and mentoring to the small System Operations team, sharing best practice, transferring technical knowledge, and supporting the wider engineering community.
- Lead and develop the team by motivating employees, fostering collaboration, providing constructive feedback, conducting progress and performance reviews, and role‑modelling the Quooker culture.
What you need to succeed
- You hold a technical education in mechanical or electrical maintenance, or mechatronics (level 4).
- In addition, you bring expert-level knowledge of preventive and reactive maintenance on automated and electromechanical material handling systems.
- Furthermore, you are highly skilled in fault finding, able to diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and control system issues and implement safe, permanent solutions.
- You also demonstrate strong data analysis and condition monitoring capability, using system data to deliver proactive, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- You are highly customer-focused with strong communication skills, combining a proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced operational environment and deputise for site leadership when required.
- It is advantageous if you have experience working in a highly automated industrial or material handling environment and are able to read, interpret and diagnose PLC error codes.
- You are willing and able to work at heights, as this role involves performing work at up to 30 metres.
- You are fluent in Dutch and confident communicating in English.
- Finally, you reside within 45 minutes driving distance of Ridderkerk.
