Join Swisslog to support at the newly opened customer site - Quooker in Ridderkerk.
As we are getting ready to build, start up, and maintain this new automated warehouse, we are looking for practical, hands-on technicians and a motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our team and help make this project a success.

You will be part of a growing team, helping to build and shape the on-site team from the start. This full-time position (40 hours) offers daytime shifts only, Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 17:00. During quieter periods, it is expected that the team, including the Team Lead, supports appropriate on-site tasks as needed.

As a Resident Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and reliability of advanced automated warehouse technologies. You will work closely with the customer on-site, combining technical know-how with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, take ownership, become a trusted point of contact and play a key part in a high-tech environment. Ideally, you are based in the Rotterdam region.

Please note: You will start your journey with us, working closely with Quooker. After 2 to 3 years, the plan is for your employment contract to transition to Quooker, offering you the opportunity to become a permanent member of their organisation.

As a Maintenance Engineer at Swisslog, you play a key role within the Customer Service organisation, and you will:

  • Provide electro-mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance on automated material handling systems, including conveyors, in line with Swisslog quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electronic faults, escalating to remote specialists when needed.
  • Ensure safe, efficient operations by following planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining advanced material handling equipment such as pallet stacker cranes, conveyors and robotics systems.
  • You will make sure customer system operation is always kept to the maximum, ensuring adherence to all the relevant instructions and technical standards
  • Work safely by following all relevant safety procedures and guidelines, carrying out tasks responsibly and contributing to a safe work environment by identifying and reporting risks.
  • Act as the on-site representative of Swisslog, building and maintaining strong customer relationships with Quooker.

What you need to succeed

  • You hold a Technical education in mechanical / electrical maintenance or mechatronics.
  • Customer service drives you and you have strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance methods and schedules.
  • Ability and willingness to work at heights, as you will perform work on 30 metres height.
  • You reside within 45 minutes driving distance from Ridderkerk.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience working in an automated industrial or automated material handling environment and able to read and find error codes in PLC. 
  • You are fluent in Dutch and confident communicating in English.
