We are searching for a self-motivated Principal ElectroMechanical Engineer with a proven record of excellent project delivery to lead a number of company projects with experience. Responsibilities will include working alongside other professionals to ensure deadlines are met, liaising with external stakeholders, attending meetings, using CAD software to produce detailed designs, ensuring all projects remain within budgetary and time constraints.
To be successful in this position, the candidate has to be capable of developing an understanding of the functionality of the various equipment system that run distribution centers and warehouses. The candidate should keep abreast of developments in their field and outside of their discipline. Exceptional Principal ElectroMechanical Engineers should constantly be upskilling themselves and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

- Analyzing problems and coming up with designs to solve them.
- Networking and collaborating with other engineers and technicians of the various disciplines that are involved in the projects.
- Working within the budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time.
- Developing electrical and mechanical design prototypes.
- Creating Bill of Materials.
- Creating RFQ’s for subcontractors.
- Assisting Sales Account Managers throughout the process of designing and quoting future customer service projects.
- Support other departments, such as the Global Helpdesk and Spare Parts, with troubleshooting efforts.
- Performing pre-engineering and pre-installation site audits.
- Performing Electrical and Mechanical Design and Integration.
- Abiltiy to mentor and train fellow engineers both within Customer Service and New Business departments.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attending meetings and providing input and updates.
- Analyzing data to write up reports.
- Capable of developing and maintaining technical documentation.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechancial Engineering or related.
- 10+ years electrical mechanical design experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Proficiency in E-Plan and/or AutoCad is essential.
- Experience with peer to peer techncial mentorship and development.
- Knowledge of creating engineering effort proposals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Being able to understand wholistically the relationship between the electrical, mechanical, controls and software systems.
- Capable of understanding customer’s operational processes and integrate it within the design effort.
- Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
- Superb creativity, vision, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and self-confidence.
- Ability to make decisions in high-stress situations.
- Great written and verbal communication skills.
