The Electro-Mechanical Technician will support the efficient operation of an automated material handling distribution system at our customer's distribution center in Marion, North Carolina. The Electro-Mechanical Technician will work with a team of technicians and mechanics to diagnose and troubleshoot the customer’s distribution process.
Make an impact
- Support, maintain, repair, and upgrade installed system customer base.
- Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Provide operational support by monitoring system, clearing errors, and adjusting loads as necessary
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications
- Document completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance action.
- Adjust and repair equipment as required to support the operation
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and ongoing situations that require attention
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Spare parts control/documentation/audits
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing tasks as assigned
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Perform other duties as required
What you need to succeed
Essential:
- 5 + years’ experience in a maintenance environment inclusive of strong mechanical skills.
- Use of hand and power tools
- Must be highly articulate, proactive and self-motivated; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Solid Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal oversight
- Address problems and provide proactive solutions that enhance customers’ operational efficiencies.
- High level of motivation and sound work ethic
- Working knowledge of products and applications
- Excellent verbal/written communication and customer skills are required.
- Proven track record in a fast-paced, demanding environment, with the ability to be flexible and adapt well to change
Desirable
- Strong customer interface and communication skills.
- AS in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Technical writing and work document experience in forming technical data/information into work procedures as necessary
- Understanding of warehouse management software products
- Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC programming
- Experience with warehouse or factory automation sub-system operations and maintenance
