MAKE AN IMPACT

The Quality and Safety Specialist II is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and coordination of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). This role supports document control, internal audits, corrective action tracking, and management reporting to ensure ongoing compliance and audit readiness. The position works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support regulatory, customer, and certification requirements while promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

The role also provides administrative and documentation support for the Health & Safety program, including maintaining controlled records and supporting reporting and tracking activities as directed by management. This position does not assume responsibilities assigned to the employer, supervisors, or Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Quality / ISO 9001

  • Maintain and update the ISO 9001 QMS in accordance with applicable standards
  • Administer document control processes (creation, revision, approval, distribution, archiving)
  • Schedule, conduct, and document internal audits
  • Coordinate preparation and follow-up for external audits
  • Administer the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action development
  • Compile, analyze, and report QMS performance metrics
  • Support supplier quality activities in collaboration with Purchasing
  • Respond to customer and regulatory compliance requests (e.g., ISO surveys, CUSMA, Conflict Minerals)
  • Develop and coordinate quality-related training materials
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvement
  • Occasional domestic and U.S. travel; limited international travel as required

Health & Safety (Administrative Support)

  • Maintain controlled Health & Safety documentation and records
  • Support tracking of corrective actions and recommendations
  • Prepare documentation summaries and reports for management review
  • Does not conduct inspections, investigations, risk assessments, or provide safety instruction

General

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Follow safety regulations and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • College Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field, plus 3+ years of experience in quality systems administration in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or equivalent combination
  • Demonstrated experience administering ISO 9001 QMS
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and OHSA documentation requirements (ISO 14001 an asset)
  • Experience with internal audits, CAPA, and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint; SAP experience an asset

Skills & Certifications

  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor training required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and passport; ability to travel to the U.S.
  • English required; German an asset

Salary Range: $ 62,400 to $ 83,200
