Make an impact
- Manage, maintain, and monitor virtual or hardware Windows and Linux servers, including patching, backups, and performance tuning,
- operate and optimize virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox),
- manage and support enterprise storage and backup systems (e.g., NetApp, Veeam),
- administer and support core services such as file services, DFS, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policies,
- monitor IT infrastructure health and proactively address issues related to performance, availability, and security,
- identify automation opportunities (PowerShell, Shellscripts, Ansible),
- evaluation and implementation of new technologies, security measures and cost optimizations,
- implement and enforce system security standards and best practices,
- maintain system documentation, runbooks, and configuration records,
- evaluate new technologies and contribute to technical decision-making,
- collaboration with the Security Operations Center (SOC) on incident response and remediation,
- regularly review system logs, alerts, and vulnerabilities,
- ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection, and audit requirements,
- support IT infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and migrations,
- provide 2nd/3rd-level support for escalated incidents and service requests.
What you need to succeed
- IT degree or equivalent experience,
- 3+ years of professional experience in the position as an IT System Administrator, IT Infrastructure Administrator, Infrastructure Architect or in a similar position,
- strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux Server environments and Active Directory,
- experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox),
- experience with monitoring platforms (e.g., CheckMK, Zabbix, etc.),
- experience with Windows File Server Administration (NTFS permissions, SMB shares, DFS-N, DFS-R),
- solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs),
- experience with backup, monitoring, and patch management solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik etc.),
- knowledge of cloud architectural principles and patterns is also very useful,
- familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and Entra ID,
- scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Ansible, Python etc.) are also very useful,
- experience in a mid-size or enterprise IT environment is an advantage,
- security & ITIL processes are part of your DNA,
- working in an international team gives you motivation,
- fluent in English,
- German knowledge is an advantage,
- additional skills and certifications are a clear plus (MCSA/MCSE, Azure Administrator, VMware VCP etc.).
