Key Responsibilities:

Incident & Problem Management

  • Own incidents escalated to you— triage, resolve and drive to closure within the agreed SLA terms (Service Level Agreement).
  • Lead root cause analysis, RCAs with corrective/preventive actions.
  • Perform log and trace analysis as necessary to identify the issue.
  • Deliver hotfixes/patches, coordinate communication and rollout as necessary.
  • Beckhoff PLC / Controls SW Engineering
  • Debug and modify Beckhoff PLC code for light goods products and depending on background / interest for pallet products as well.
  • Analyze and optimize control logic, handshake/interlocks, error handling, and recovery sequences.
  • Participate in controls SW project work (development, realization or modernization) as means to maintain sharp knowledge of the latest product design.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Act as technical liaison with Controls Engineering and Quality to prioritize defect backlogs and fixes / patches and also in preparation and issue of CSI (Customer Support Information) related to your expertise area.
  • Support go lives and major upgrades; advise on cutover plans and rollback strategies.

What you need to succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical/Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent knowledge acquired in some other way.
  • 3+ years in industrial automation/controls with direct PLC programming/debugging. experience, alternatively from a test & verification relevant
  • Knowledge in Beckhoff TwinCAT programming, preferably developer level
  • Experience with Swisslog Cyclone Carrier, Tornado, QuickMove
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety and operational practices
  • Understanding of material handling systems (shuttle systems, conveyors, lifts, cranes etc)

Desired qualifications but not a must:

  • Experience or familiarity with pallet products (Vectura, PowerStore, ProMove)
  • Familiarity with WMS architectures and warehouse / product integration

Core Competencies:

  • Deep Debugging: Systematic, hypothesis driven approach; comfort operating in live production environments
  • Systems Thinking: Understands interplay between PLC, drives, field devices, WCS/WMS, networks, and safety
  • Communication: Clear incident updates, high quality RCAs, and actionable documentation
  • Customer focused: Strong sense of urgencycombined with a pragmatic and rational approach
  • Ownership: End to end accountability—from triage to verified fix and lessons learne

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly office hours with up to 2 days per week home office
  • On call rotation for 24/7 support to our global is part of your work tasks
  • Occasional travel to customer sites for escalations and go lives depending on interest and capability
  • Work in operational warehouse environments; with strict adherence to PPE and LOTO procedures
