Make an impact
- Administrate and operate scalable and secure database systems (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL etc.),
- optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource management,
- implement and maintain data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies,
- troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to database services,
- collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and DevOps teams to support application development and data integration,
- monitor database health and proactively address issues related to performance, availability, and security,
- share knowledge within the IT department proactively through knowledge sharing and the creation of knowledge base articles,
- stay up to date with the latest MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL or other technology features and updates to optimize usage,
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements,
- ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations,
- manage, execute, or support IT Projects when required,
- work with other IT Departments in KUKA Group as needed,
- support audits and certifications (TISAX, ISO27001, etc.),
- defines and enforces department operating policies, procedures, and budget,
- adhere to corporate policies and procedures and legal requirements,
- performs other duties, as assigned.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor’s or Master`s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or combined equivalent in education and experience,
- 3+ years’ experience in database engineering or administration,
- strong proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MariaDB etc.) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra),
- first experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and database-as-a-service offerings,
- certifications in database technologies or cloud platforms,
- first experience with automation tools is a benefit, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC, Python, Ansible etc.),
- excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail,
- able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment with strong customer service orientation,
- strong written and verbal communication up and down the organization.
