Make an impact

  • Administrate and operate scalable and secure database systems (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL etc.),
  • optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource management,
  • implement and maintain data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies,
  • troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to database services,
  • collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and DevOps teams to support application development and data integration,
  • monitor database health and proactively address issues related to performance, availability, and security,
  • share knowledge within the IT department proactively through knowledge sharing and the creation of knowledge base articles,
  • stay up to date with the latest MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL or other technology features and updates to optimize usage,
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements,
  • ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations,
  • manage, execute, or support IT Projects when required,
  • work with other IT Departments in KUKA Group as needed,
  • support audits and certifications (TISAX, ISO27001, etc.),
  • defines and enforces department operating policies, procedures, and budget,
  • adhere to corporate policies and procedures and legal requirements,
  • performs other duties, as assigned.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s or Master`s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or combined equivalent in education and experience,
  • 3+ years’ experience in database engineering or administration,
  • strong proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MariaDB etc.) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra),
  • first experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and database-as-a-service offerings,
  • certifications in database technologies or cloud platforms,
  • first experience with automation tools is a benefit, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC, Python, Ansible etc.),
  • excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail,
  • able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment with strong customer service orientation,
  • strong written and verbal communication up and down the organization.
