We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated International Tax Manager (m/f/d) to join our dynamic team at the OTCOE EMEA (Overseas Tax Center of Excellence). As part of the OTCOE EMEA team, the Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the tax compliance and risk management of group entities in Germany, and support other EU countries in the region. This role requires a deep understanding of German / EU tax regulations from both technical and practical perspectives and the ability to implement effective tax strategies to optimize the local entities’ tax positions.
- Responsible for promotion and implementation of the Group’s global / regional tax strategy and policy in Germany.
- Stay current on regional and local tax legislation developments, assess potential impact on the business and communicate with internal stakeholders, and conduct regular tax trainings to the stakeholders.
- Lead / participate in local tax health check projects or tax audits initiated by the tax authorities, supported by external tax advisors as appropriate.
- Collaborate closely with finance, legal, and business teams to ensure tax-compliant and efficient structuring of transactions / operations and provide ad-hoc practical tax solutions.
- Monitor tax compliance status of local entities, support on review of internal tax reporting as well as external tax filings prepared by local entities, and further manage local tax compliance process improvement if any.
- Asist in the implementation of the Group’s global tax digitalization initiatives and coordinate with local entities.
What you need to succeed
- Degree in Tax Law, Accounting, or Finance; a Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., Tax Advisor, CPA, CTA) is a plus
- At least 5 years of professional experience in local country tax practice, preferably in an international setting
- Strong knowledge of German corporate income tax law
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities, especially with the ability to communicate tax technical issues with non-tax professionals
- Independent and team-oriented working style
- Proficient in tax software and MS Office
