Systems Engineer lead and conducts the pre-sales support activities through the development of concepts, alternates, and strategies to create a comprehensive contract document that clearly defines system functionality and design while improving sales closure rate. The Systems Engineer is responsible for optimizing the proposal submitted to Swisslog’s clients.

 

Make an impact

•    Develop Subcontractor Bid Specifications in conjunction with other Swisslog personnel and Engineering Team
•    Primary customer contact along with Account Manager during proposal
•    Develop proposal plan to meet due date
•    Prepare Risk review, Price estimates, occasionally Design reviews and other documents in accordance to Swisslog processes
•    Conduct cost engineering analysis
•    Conduct throughput analysis
•    Coordinate and assist in development of proposal concepts and alternates. Develop and optimize solutions to create the best value for the investment. Be able to compare different solutions and present the differences.
•    Create drawings in AutoCad of provided concepts
•    Create costs of internal and external sub-system
•    Host sub-suppliers visits
•    Perform presentations concerning products and solution both internally as well as externally
•    Systems Engineer, will be required to coordinate an average of three suppliers per component (excl. Swisslog internal supplies), consisting of developing RFP’s, answering and documenting response to questions, and reviewing offers for a variety of products to ensure compliance to Swisslog’s performance and quality standards.

•    Improve tools, internal processes etc. Create and maintain reference documents 
•    Mentoring new hires in the System Engineering group.

What you need to succeed

Essential
•    4 Year Engineering Bachelors Degree preferably Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical.
•    Considerable material handling industry experience is an acceptable substitute for an engineering degree.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project.

•    Minimum of 2-3 years engineering work experience.  

 

Desirable
•    2-3 years in the material handling industry working on solutions and preparing proposals for multi-million dollar projects consisting of one or more of the following product: AS/RS, conveyors, AGVS, WMS, palletizing, etc.
