The DevOps Engineer will help us architect, design and build functional platform delivery systems that improve our internal and external customer experience, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer III who can be responsible for architecting and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure that provide product updates and implement integrations for both our internal and external stakeholders/customers. This role will focus on architecting, leading and ensuring the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure that support scaling automation, integrating warehouse platforms/solutions/continuous deployments and ensuring real-time system reliability from deployments of product and solutions. The role will have a large impact on team productivity and as such requires an understanding of the software development lifecycle and various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines).
You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Real-time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevOps and Systems Test within our software development environments. You will analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
Make an impact
- Architect, lead, and optimize/evolve large-scale CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds and deployments for high availability environments both internally focused for product/solution development and externally focused for replication and support through project development and customer service lifecycle management.
- Architect, build, and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi or CloudFormation tools as applied within the platform architectures for specific product/solution support.
- Architect observability solutions within platform pipelines and systems to capture key KPI’s
- Develop auto-scaling, self-healing, and disaster recovery strategies for edge-native infrastructure with real-time operations.
- Design and implement multi-on-premises, multi-cloud (Axure, AWS, GCP), and hybrid infrastructure using best practices.
- Ensure infrastructure security and compliance for any certifications required (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR and any certifications established for logistics data security).
- Design and automate security scans (SAST, DAST, SCA) into pipelines.
- Design, build, maintain, and enhance container platforms and cluster management utilizing Docker and Kubernetes (networking, security policies, auto-scaling, and other techniques).
- Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to define and manage the DevOps roadmap and strategies for architecture, implementation, and release.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems for any incidents or issues within platform components.
- Mentor both junior and mid-level engineers to train/guide DevOps best practices, DevOps policies and procedures across teams.
What you need to succeed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 5+ Years experience in same or similar role within a DevOps organization.
- Expert experience and knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Tekton, and/or ArgoCD). Preferred experience in more than 1 toolset.
- Mastery of Infrastructure as Code languages and applications (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Advance architecture skills for pipelines, IaC, on-premises, and cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP, or hybrid) systems.
- Deep knowledge and experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration and management to include edge native computing (K3s, MicroK8s, ROS2), service mesh (Istio, Linkerd), RBAC, and networking.
- Strong experience in site reliability engineer (SRE) and incident management.
- Advanced experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell languages.
- Strong grasp of DevSecOps, Zero Trust Security, and compliance frameworks.
- Leadership experience in cross-functional teams and DevOps transformations.
- Detail oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills a Plus:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- DBA experience or knowledge with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or Postgresql.
- Implementation of zero-downtime updates of warehouse or application systems.
- Implementation of AI-driven features and capabilities within CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure systems.
