The Project Management Office in Swisslog is a key technical group responsible for establishing, implementing and developing our company's project management processes, planning, auditing and tracking. This team ensures delivery of highly technical automated solutions that meet exacting quality, efficiency, and budget targets.

 

The PMO Manager has deep a technical knowledge of automated logistics systems and drives best practices within the company. They ensure that the Project Management functional community is up to date on processes, data and functional standards and that those standards are followed.

 

The position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations Americas but is part of a global functional community that further develops, improves and influences the company’s functional strategy in technology, products, and processes.
 

Make an impact

  • Data Driven – responsible for the clear data transparency to enable the Project Team to both Forecast and Manage the Project deliverables in line with the committed schedule and budget. 
  • Change Management – work with Project Team to manage scope changes throughout the lifecycle of a project and ensure that the impact of changes is understood, documented, costed and managed through a traceability change process.
  • Team Management - leverage leadership skills and experiences to continuously improve the PMO function. Identify any skills gaps in the team and create plans to fill those gaps through planned structured internal development and external recruitment.
  • Culture of Performance- through your leadership you will help support a high-performance focused PM team that celebrates achieving great results and that others look to for inspiration.
  • Planning for Growth – help build a strong learning organization that will fit the needs of our growing business, while bringing new exciting and enhanced solutions to our customers.
  • Create Alignment –assure that the team is fully aligned and working effectively with all other teams in the region, creating a cooperative environment to ensure we deliver solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations.
  • Building Global Competence - you will work closely with the Global PMO leadership to implement Global Methodologies and Tools within the NA Region.
  • Reporting – you will setup and drive transparent reporting of the group’s activities to ensure we are delivering on time and in full, and ensuring the group enables the best customer experience.
  • Resource Management – Support the development and maintenance of accuracy of Capacity Plans for both existing and new business 
     

What you need to succeed

  • An advanced degree in Mechancial or Industrial Engineering.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • A Six Sigma belt certification
  • Significant experience in a global top 10 logistics automation company.
  • Experience in supply chain, manufacturing and automotive industries
  • Experience working in global engineering companies.
  • Knowledge and practical experience using Six Sigma for continuous improvemnt programs.
  • Significant techincal leadership experience  in a detailed oriented project based organziation.
  • A positive and energic person that people want to follow.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to set direction and develop a team.
  • Strategic mindset and high business acumen.
  • High level of project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with ability to build relationships and trust across the organization.
  • Ability to drive change and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Solid understanding of cultural differences and excellent English language skills
