The incumbent shall assist the Project Manager in all technical matters and control project management in regards to Automation Engineering in the realization phase of Automated Material Handling System projects. In this role, he/she will lead the control engineers to perform detailed electrical, control hardware and software engineering during pre-sales and implementation phases of projects such as functional specification, system design, electrical and control cabinet design of sub-system / equipment, component application, interface specification, control software development of sub-system / equipment, factory acceptance, site installation, commissioning, integration and documentation.

  • Work with Project Manager, System Design Engineer, Integration Manager, Control Engineer and Software Engineer to ensure the overall system strategies are implemented correctly to achieve performance criteria.
  • Managing control engineers and suppliers in projects.
  • Monitoring of project schedule and ensure delivery meet the milestones.
  • Preparation of project documents.
  • Preparation of specification accordance to Swisslog Solutions and conduct presentation to customer.
  • Preparation of quality assurance documents and ensure the Quality delivered by control engineers and suppliers.
  • Preparation / review of detail control system and safety design documents / layouts, schematic drawings and cabinet designs.
  • Preparation / review of sub-system / equipment interface documents.
  • Development of control software, emulation and SCADA for material handling system with control engineers.
  • Preparation / review of test specification, periodical quality assurance inspection and conduct factory acceptance test for sub-system / equipment suppliers.
  • Evaluation and selection of potential material handling equipment, electrical and control components.
  • Preparation / review of requirement specifications for procurement of material handling equipment, electrical and control components.
  • Review of specification documents, detailed drawing and control software from suppliers.
  • Conduct commissioning of sub-system control software at site.
  • Conduct interface and integration test at site.
  • Preparation of acceptance test procedures.
  • Preparation of operation & maintenance manual.
  • Responsible for the support of selected activities directly towards the customer as well as participation in project meetings.
  • Development of customer training program. Communication
  • Prepare and hold professional presentations using PowerPoint.
  • Coordinate the integration and overall design between Swisslog and sub-suppliers.
  • Update superior on regular basis regarding progress of work.

 

What you need to succeed

  • Degree holder in Electrical or Controls or Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years working experience preferably in project, related to industrial.
  • Independent and able to work under pressure and tight schedules.
  • Advanced in EPLAN P8 and AutoCad design for switch board, power cabinet, control cabinet and field electrical & control installation compliance to EN, IEC, ISO, AS/NZS, GB or other international standard.
  • Advanced in PLC Structured Text, Function Block, Data Block and Ladder programming (Beckhoff - TwinCat 2 / TwinCat3, Siemens – STEP 7 / TIA).
  • Experience with PLC control systems, SCADA, EtherCat / Profinet / Profibus / TCPIP protocol, Variable Speed Drives, Safety Devices, Scanners and Control components.
  • Project management skill is an added advantage.
  • Good analytical, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
  • Matured, self driven and proactive.
  • A team player with strong customer focused.
  • Working experience in automated material handling system is an added advantage but not essential.
  • Proficiency in English (oral & written).
  • Computer literate with good knowledge in using Microsoft Office.
  • Willing to travel both domestically and overseas on short notice.
