Make an impact

  • International procurement of Gearbox and Gears with focus markets in Asia (Japan) and Europe
  • Execution and responsibility for international contracts and price negotiations 
  • Intensive collaboration with the Advanced Procurement Teams in cross-functional projects regarding value analyses, target costing, total cost of ownership, product life cycle analyses, standardization projects, etc.
  • Leveraging market and technology knowledge in the development or modification of products with the aim of cost reduction
  • Identification of cost structure and drivers within the specific Material Group
  • Providing foundations for strategic decisions (Make-or-Buy, Substitution, Standardization, Modular Approaches, etc.) from a cost perspective
  • Continuous analysis and preparation of Material Group-specific developments in procurement markets, along with ongoing information exchange with relevant departments
  • Responsible for the initial maintenance/updating of basic logistical, commercial & technical data in the SAP system (delivery/price agreements, Incoterms, terms of payment etc.)
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of supplier performance and derivation of improvement measures in coordination with Supplier Quality Management (SQM) 
  • Ensuring capacities and delivery deadlines, escalating when targets are at risk

What you need to succeed

  • Successful completion of an economic/engineering education as part of a university degree or comparable educational level
  • At least 3 years of professional experience, mostly in the areas of purchasing, logistics or materials management
  • Technical background of the technology-driven industry desirable
  • Planning and organizational skills, result orientation, high decision-making competence and very good communications skills
  • Good Knowhow in MS-Office and SAP 
  • Willingness to travel (40%)
  • Fluent German and English skills, spoken and written
